Astronomical Equipment

My main equipment consists of the following:

Telescope:

• 12" f/10 Meade LX200 GPS, purchased from Oceanside Photo & Telescope (who have provided outstanding customer support)
• Meade Superwedge equatorial wedge

Imaging:

• Various 35mm camera bodies:
  • Nikon F3, clear focusing screen, Nikon DW-4 finder
  • Zeiss Icarex, clear focusing screen, waist-level finder, or Nikon DW-4 finder
• Webcams:
  • Philips ToUcam, Model 740K or 840K with my custom-made ToUcam Adapter
  • Meade DSI imager
• Baader Planetarium UV/IR block filter (from U.S. distributor, Alpine Astro)
• Baader Planetarium IR pass filter
• Lumicon 2" UV/IR block filter
• Meade f/6.3 and f/3.3 focal reducers
• TeleVue Powermate 2.5x with TeleVue T-thread adapter

Processing:

• K3CCDTools 3 for webcam imaging and guiding, rudimentary planetary pre-processing
• Registax 3 for image stacking
• Adobe Photoshop for post-processing

Other software:

• Cartes du Ciel -- an outstanding free sky mapping package which can also drive Meade telescopes
• Andrew Johansen's PEC (periodic error correction) utility
• Meade Autostar Suite for driving Meade DSI camera
• CalSKY for simulated views of planets
